Hello book lovers!<3 For those who don’t know what Mermay is, it’s a challenge where the artist draws a mermaid every day during May. It is a great exercise to practice your drawing skills but I generally I can’t keep up with any monthly challenges 😂
To be honest I wasn’t planning doing any mermaid at all this month but after seeing so many good artworks out there I was little inspired to do at least one mermaid! One mermaid became two, and when I noticed I had 5 mermaids in my hands! I’m very pleased that I’ve done so many but unfortunately I have to focus on other projects and my mermay is finished for me!👍
So my collection hasn’t a specific theme, I just did 5 mermaids with 5 different colors in the same style 😊 I stared drawing my girls on my sketchbook like I normally do and then I finished them on Procreate using my iPad Pro. Although I did them digitally I used a watercolor brush to make them look like to most close to tradicional, and I liked the final result and I hope you too!🤗
My mermay mermaids are available as laminated bookmarks on my Etsy store (click here) so go check it out if you want one (or more) for yourself!
I hope you liked these illustrations and thank you for checking out! ❤
Hello book lovers! ❤
Last week I’ve finished reading “Hunting Prince Dracula”, the second book on “Stalking Jack the Ripper” series by Kerri Maniscalco, and I loved it! I don’t know yet which one I liked most yet but I’m sure that I’m more than ready to read the next one, I can’t wait!
In honor to the Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell, the main characters on the books, I decided to illustrate them in a cute chibi style! (They are so adorable together right?)
Drawing in chibi style is a recent thing for me, I’ve always liked drawing semi-real portraits but unfortunately I’m not the best at it so this style is more easier for me and I think it transmits the “cute” style that I love!
The fun thing about drawing these characters are their clothes, I really liked drawing this “old vintage” style, more than modern clothes 😂
I drew these characters on my iPad pro with the app procreate and finish them in Adobe Photoshop CC.
If you like these characters, they are available to purchase on my Etsy store as magnetic bookmarks (Click here). (In the future I want to make stickers too 😉) Here are some pictures of the product:
I hope you liked this illustration and thanks for your visit!🤗
Hello book lovers! ❤
Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors of all time since I read “The Mortal Instruments series” when I was younger. Since then I’ve read her other books and loved every one of them! Now I’m currently reading “Lord of Shadows” from “The Dark Artifices” series and I realized I haven’t done anything related to it, so I decided to draw Emma and make a bookmark to use while I’m reading this book!
I wanted to draw Emma Carstairs because I really like her as a character, and since drawing guys isn’t my strong, I had to choose her 😛
I did a sketch of her in my sketchbook with a pencil and when I was done I finished the illustration on my iPad Pro with the app Procreate as usual.
I confess I really like the result, drawing semi-realistic characters isn’t my strong but I like drawing once in a while! “Emma” bookmark is available to purchase in my Etsy store if you want one for yourself! (Click here)
Here are some photos of the product, you can find more details on the link above!
I hope you enjoyed this illustration and thank you for checking out! ❤
Hello book lovers! ❤
This week I asked you on Instagram which of the following sentences would you prefer for me to use on a design:
1 – Books are my sunshine or 2 – All I need is a good book to shine my day
The votes were very close, but with 52% the sentence number 2 won! 😀
Despite the weather is very ugly and it’s raining a lot lately, I wanted to create an artwork to welcome the Spring and for that I planned drawing my favorite flower – sunflower, with a pixie reading a book!
On a watercolor paper I started sketching the elements I was planning to use. When I finished, I painted with watercolor until I was happy with the result!
Then I scanned the painting and used Procreate on my iPad pro to outline the elements, this way it’s more perceptible and give a more finishing look to it. After everything is on place I wrote the sentence you picked “All I need is a good book to shine my day” in this illustration and it’s done! Oh I just added a spot of watercolor in the background because I thought something was missing!
“Shine my day” is now available on my Society6 and Redbubble stores (Click here), here are some examples of this design applied in products that you can buy for yourself:
